Sterile Supply Storeroom Clerk
MAIN FUNCTION:
Responsible for counting and stocking perioperative supplies to maintain adequate levels according to established par levels. Responsible for physically receiving and accounting for all perioperative orders. Responsible for inventories, replenishment, and distribution to operating rooms.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager Surgical Supplies
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience in some phase of purchasing to include ordering, inventory control, minimum/maximum inventory levels, shipping, and receiving.
Capable of repetitive lifting up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
Computer, keyboard, EDI (electronic data interchange) experience.
Previous hospital purchasing experience.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
- Takes accurate inventory counts on a scheduled basis to determine items to be ordered, stocked, and distributed.
- Monitors all supply transactions to assure proper documentation of all supplies leaving and entering the perioperative area.
* Replenishes designated supplies for surgery and anesthesia daily per stocking schedule. Adjust par levels accordingly as needed. Rotates stock and checks for expired supplies in these areas.
- Monitors usage of inventory items and adjusts stock levels accordingly. Under supervision of Sterile Supply Manager or Sterile Supply Assistant.
- Unloads pallets in materials management and transport to perioperative area.
- Inspects sterile supplies while unpacking, transporting, and stocking shelves.
- Tags and shelves supplies that are chargeable and/or non-chargeable inventory items.
- Maintain inventory and make revisions as necessary. Maintain in a neat well-organized condition and rotate stock according to expiration dates.
- Have professional interactions with outsides vendors, physicians, and perioperative staff.
- Required to take part in the year end physical inventory.
