NeuLife rehabilitation of MI offers residential care and rehabilitation support to adults with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders at several locations throughout Macomb and Oakland counties. Position Summary:
The Director of Vocational Services is responsible for developing and overseeing individualized employment services for people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This role involves assessing the physical, cognitive, and emotional capacities to determine vocational readiness and develop customized employment plans for the people served. The Director leads a team in implementing community-based work opportunities and vocational rehabilitation programs that promote independence, dignity, and purpose for the individuals served.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive vocational assessments evaluating the physical, psychological, social, and cognitive abilities of individuals with TBI.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized vocational goals and objectives based on the strengths and interests of the person served.
- Design, implement, and supervise vocational rehabilitation programs including pre employment training, supported employment, job coaching, and conununity
- Build and maintain partnerships with local employers and community organizations to create inclusive employment opportunities.
- Provide direct supervision, training, and support to vocational staff and job
- Monitor the individual's progress toward their vocational goals and adjust plans as needed to ensure success.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, Medicaid waivers, and person-centered planning requirements.
- Maintain documentation, case notes, and program data by state and organizational
- Advocate for the rights and capabilities of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the workplace and the community.
- Develop and manage the department budget and vocational programming
Qualifications:
- Master's degree and licensure in Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or related field (PhD's preferred).
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation or supported employment, preferably with individuals with TBI or developmental
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, disability rights, and vocational rehabilitation best practices.
- Experience in assessment and goal development using person-centered
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to community employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or another relevant
- Knowledge of vocational programming
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and with employer
