We are seeking a motivated and dependable Unlicensed Dental Assistant to join our dental team. In this role, you will support our licensed dental staff by performing non-patient-facing tasks and limited patient care duties as allowed under Minnesota law. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the dental field while working toward licensure or certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms before and after procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist with patient intake, including seating and comfort
- Maintain inventory and order supplies
- Take and record vital signs and medical history as directed
- Set up trays and instruments for dental procedures
- Assist in lab work (pouring models, labeling, etc.)
- Perform other supportive duties under the supervision of licensed staff

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions and work in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in pursuing a dental assisting license or related healthcare path
- Must comply with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting
- Completion of a Dental Assistant training program (in progress or planned)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Somali, Hmong, etc.) a plus
Legal Scope (MN Compliance) In Minnesota, unlicensed dental assistants may perform certain duties under personal supervision of a licensed dentist or dental assistant as defined by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. They may not perform any delegated duties requiring licensure or registration until properly credentialed.
