Butler & College, LLC is a leading law firm in the Lowcountry where we focus on real estate law and estate planning. We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Title Abstractor for Jasper County, South Carolina to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate law and title processing, along with excellent research skills. As a Title Abstractor, you will be responsible for examining public records and other documents to prepare accurate title abstracts that reflect the legal status of properties. This role requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively within a law office environment.
Duties
- Conduct thorough research on property titles, including reviewing deeds, mortgages, liens, and other relevant documents.
- Prepare detailed title abstracts that summarize findings and identify any potential issues affecting property ownership.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to assist in property analysis and mapping.
- Collaborate with clients, real estate agents, and attorneys to provide clear explanations of title findings and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain organized records of all research conducted and documents processed.
- Stay updated on changes in real estate law and title processing procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Previous experience conducting title abstracting in Jasper County, South Carolina.
- Strong understanding of real estate law and title processing practices.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex information effectively.
- Proficiency in using GIS technology for property analysis is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
