The Nursery Yard Operations Associate supports the daily operations of Egan Wholesale Groups wholesale nursery in Plymouth, MA. This hands-on outdoor role focuses on unloading deliveries, moving plant material, preparing contractor orders, operating equipment, and maintaining an organized and efficient nursery yard. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and comfortable operating equipment such as skid steers, mini skid steers, and wheel loaders. Plant knowledge is helpful but not required; strong work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment are most important. This role reports to the Nursery Manager and may occasionally support Egan Landscape Group field crews with tasks such as cleanups, planting projects, and landscape maintenance when operational needs require.

OBJECTIVES
- Assist with unloading plant deliveries and organizing materials throughout the nursery yard
- Move plant material safely and efficiently using equipment such as skid steers, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers
- Prepare and stage contractor orders for pickup and delivery
- Assist customers with loading plant material and ensuring a smooth pickup experience
- Maintain clean, organized plant areas, loading zones, and workspaces throughout the nursery
- Monitor general plant condition and alert management to watering or plant health concerns
- Support inventory organization and plant restocking throughout the yard
- Ensure carts, racks, hoses, and equipment are properly stored at the end of each day
- Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment and handling nursery materials
- Work collaboratively with the nursery team to maintain efficient daily operations
- Provide occasional support to Egan Landscape Group field crews, assisting with cleanups, planting jobs, landscape maintenance, and other field tasks when operational needs require

- Ability to stay organized and maintain clean work areas
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist customers and coworkers when needed
- Willingness to support both nursery operations and occasional landscape field work
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- MA Hoisting License 2A required or willingness to obtain.
- Experience operating skid steers, wheel loaders, and mini skid steers.
- Experience in landscaping, construction, nursery work, or outdoor labor preferred
- A valid drivers license is a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Nursery Associate role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks. This includes frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The position involves operating heavy machinery and handling large plant materials. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and sustaining a high level of physical activity throughout the workday.
