Job DescriptionDescription:

Vistra Communications seeks an experienced Digital Social Media Analytics professional to provide digital social media and analytical support to the Department of Army's Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) and Department of Defense Public Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media and analytical support for reaching diverse audiences. This role requires the ability to develop, manage, and monitor digital social media strategies and collateral and integrating social listening, providing media insights, and generating detailed reports to inform Army public affairs strategies.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operation of social media accounts for OCPA, to include scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring message reach and engagement
  • Provide support for the toolbox of Army social media tools and solutions, serving as a liaison to other groups within the Army and across the other services
  • Plan and execute live events using Army social media tools and accounts, cultivating communities and growing social media audiences
  • Perform social media analysis, including but not limited to, tone, engagement, sentiment, and demographic and geographic reach
  • Develop insights on Army engagement with key stakeholder groups, including service members, veterans, elected officials, other government officials, and defense industry organizations
  • Integrate social listening across OCPA initiatives to monitor trending conversation and sentiment about the Army brand
  • Analyze data from traditional and new media and social networks to evaluate the effectiveness of Army communication strategies
  • Identify and recommend social media influencers aligned with Army objectives for specified topics and regions
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the OCPA’s mission and enhance public engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years demonstrated strategic/tactical/media communication level experience within the last 10 years.
  • Proficiency in social media monitoring tools and data analysis.
  • Experience with leading social media tools, including Talkwalker, Meltwater, Spredfast, Sprout Social, Falcon IO, google analytics and proficiency in manipulating these platforms with sophisticated Boolean searches.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience creating detailed reports and content summaries.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and provide timely information on breaking news and strategic developments.
  • Knowledge of military public affairs or similar high-stakes communication environments preferred.
