Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking experienced Corrosion Control Specialists (Level II and III) to support Army aviation and ground system sustainment operations. This role provides technical expertise in corrosion prevention, Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS), and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to identify systemic issues, assess equipment condition, and implement corrective actions that improve readiness and extend system life.
Personnel will support both field and depot-level maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with military standards while delivering high-quality corrosion mitigation and prevention solutions. This position requires travel of at least 25% in support of field assessments, site visits, and mission requirements across various CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Candidates must possess an active Secret clearance and maintain eligibility in accordance with DoD security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform corrosion inspections, identification, and treatment on military equipment, airframes, and infrastructure
- Conduct NDT methods including magnetic particle, dye penetrant, ultrasonic, and related inspection techniques
- Execute surface preparation, coating application, and corrosion prevention compound (CPC) processes
- Inspect and categorize corrosion damage in accordance with military standards
- Troubleshoot and repair corrosion-related issues, including cathodic protection (CP) systems and electrical isolation concerns
- Document findings, maintenance actions, and compliance data in maintenance and tracking systems
- Support COSIS programs to ensure proper preservation and storage of equipment
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and DoD regulations and maintenance policies
- Provide input to corrosion prevention programs, data analysis, and trend identification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Army aviation systems (Apache, Black Hawk, UAS)
- Familiarity with COSIS and long-term equipment preservation programs
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling and environmental compliance
- Experience working in field maintenance or depot environments
- Strong documentation and data tracking experience
Level-Specific RequirementsCorrosion Control Specialist II
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of corrosion control experience
- Strong understanding of corrosion theory, metallurgy, and prevention techniques
- Ability to independently perform inspections and maintenance with minimal supervision
- ASNT Level II certification preferred
- Capable of supporting training of junior personnel and assisting in project execution
Corrosion Control Specialist III
- 10+ years of corrosion control experience
- Advanced expertise in corrosion mechanisms, mitigation techniques, and CPC programs
- ASNT Level III certification required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to lead corrosion programs, projects, and personnel
