Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate payroll operations, collaborating with diverse teams, and identifying opportunities for system and process improvements. This is a long-term contract position based in Redwood City, California.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll for both hourly and salaried employees with accuracy and timeliness, including comprehensive Gross-to-Net calculations.
• Manage payroll system implementations, upgrades, and transitions, while identifying and executing process improvement initiatives.
• Conduct thorough payroll audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and tax requirements.
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies, including tax filings, benefits deductions, and wage garnishments.
• Prepare and manage payroll-related reports such as tax filings, direct deposits, and retirement contributions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address payroll inquiries and ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a solid understanding of multi-state payroll processes and associated tax regulations.
• Provide expertise in payroll systems, ensuring alignment with accounting principles and organizational standards.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and v-lookups, to support payroll data analysis.• Proven experience in payroll processing, with strong proficiency in Gross-to-Net calculations.
• Hands-on experience with payroll implementation projects, including system transitions.
• Familiarity with multi-state payrolls and associated tax regulations.
• Expertise in payroll systems and accounting software such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Dayforce.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups, for payroll data management.
• Certified Payroll designation or progress toward certification is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for addressing inquiries and collaborating across teams.
