Job Description
The Ready-Mix Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ready-mix concrete, pumping, and aggregate operations—including plant production, dispatching, fleet management, and field support. This position ensures operational efficiency, product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction while leading a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with strong knowledge of concrete production, materials management, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant & Production Management
- Manage daily ready-mix concrete and aggregate plant operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost control.
- Plan and schedule concrete and materials production to meet customer and project demands.
- Oversee batching accuracy, mix designs, and raw material inventory.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of batching plants, crushers, conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
2. Fleet & Driver Management
- Supervise ready-mix drivers, aggregate haulers, and pump operators to ensure timely, safe, and efficient deliveries.
- Manage fleet scheduling, dispatch operations, and route optimization.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company vehicle safety policies.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and inspection programs for all trucks and heavy equipment.
3. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all operations meet ASTM, ACI, DOT, and local quality standards.
- Oversee QA/QC testing and documentation for ready-mix and aggregate materials.
- Drive compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
- Lead safety meetings, audits, and corrective actions to maintain a zero-incident culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in ready-mix, aggregate, or construction materials operations.
- Strong understanding of concrete production, aggregate processing, and pumping operations.
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple facilities, teams, and logistics operations.
- Working knowledge of batching systems, dispatch software, and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 and/or MSHA certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
