Job Description
Job Description
Our client is one of the most technically credentialed commercial HVAC controls firms in the Southeast — and one of only seventeen Honeywell Authorized Controls Integrators in all of North America. As an Authorized Controls Contractor for Schneider Electric as well, they sit at the top of the supply chain in a specialized industry, with the manufacturer relationships, training access, and technical resources that most firms in this space simply don't have. They serve commercial building owners, contractors, and design-build teams across a multi-state footprint, and they've built a reputation for doing complex work right — on time, by qualified people, every time.
If you've been in the DDC controls world — whether programming and commissioning systems in the field or servicing buildings under a controls contractor — this is the kind of organization where your skills will actually be put to use, and where you'll keep getting sharper working alongside a team that takes the craft seriously.
What You'll Own
- Install, program, start up, and commission DDC-based HVAC control systems on commercial projects across the region
- Service and troubleshoot existing building automation systems — including work installed by others — with a focus on diagnosing root cause, not just resetting alarms
- Configure and deploy systems on Honeywell (including Niagara N4/Tridium), Schneider Electric, and related platforms including BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus protocols
- Perform preventative maintenance on customer service contracts, keeping commercial building systems operating at peak efficiency
- Integrate HVAC controls with ancillary systems — security, access control, lighting, and energy monitoring dashboards — as part of broader building automation scopes
- Represent the organization directly with building owners, property managers, and general contractors — communicating clearly about system status, recommendations, and scope
- Support project managers and the engineering team with field-level input on design-build and renovation projects
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with DDC controls systems — Honeywell Building Controls and/or Schneider Electric experience is strongly preferred; candidates who have worked in a service technician role for a controls contractor are equally competitive
- Familiarity with Niagara N4 (Tridium) is a meaningful plus
- Working knowledge of open-protocol platforms: BACnet, LonWorks, and/or Modbus
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and controls drawings, sequences of operation, and wiring diagrams
- Comfort working independently in the field on commercial buildings — hospitals, schools, municipal facilities, office buildings — while managing your own schedule and priorities
- Strong communication skills; you'll regularly interface with building owners and contractors who are counting on you for clear answers
- A mindset oriented toward service excellence and doing the job right the first time
Benefits
A complete compensation and benefits summary will be provided to qualified candidates upon engagement. The following reflects what is known at this stage:
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Work with a team that holds elite manufacturer authorizations — meaning access to direct technical support, ongoing training, and the latest platforms from Honeywell and Schneider Electric
- Stable, tenured organization with a strong multi-state customer base and a diverse project mix spanning new construction, service contracts, and design-build renovation
- A work environment built around professional standards — drug-free, smoke-free, and operated with the same level of accountability the team brings to every job site
- Community-invested organization with deep roots in the region
