Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 institution in Converse, TX seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide both push-in and pull-out services for approximately 20 students in grades 6-12. This contract position spans the entire school year with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, offering a consistent and structured work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with special needs within general education and resource settings
- Actively participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, contributing valuable insights to individualized education plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective implementation of IEP goals
- Monitor and document student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Department of Education EC-12 Special Education license is required
- Proven experience with ARD meetings, demonstrating confidence in attending and providing meaningful input
- Strong classroom management and munication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families
