Position Summary
As part of a global team of communications professionals, the Senior Manager of Public Relations, North America, is a leadership role that will help shape a holistic communications roadmap inclusive of the company’s paid, earned, shared and owned media. This role will help develop messaging and strategies that drive meaningful results for the business. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Develop PR and social media plans to support overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with Global AVP to define PR/social goals and KPIs.
- Identify new opportunities and innovative activations to increase brand awareness and revenue.
- Establish synergies across hotels, departments, offices, and corporate brands.
Media & Influencer Relations
- Build and cultivate relationships with media partners across key verticals.
- Oversee media relations strategies and influencer marketing campaigns.
- Support executive speaking opportunities, interviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Organize and host media/influencer FAM trips and trade events.
Campaign Management & Execution
- Draft, review, and edit press releases, talking points, presentations, FAQs, and scripts.
- Actively communicate news and updates including award wins and special mentions.
- Brainstorm and create engaging social media content.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships to support communications efforts.
Crisis & Corporate Communications
- Partner with corporate crisis team and brand partners to manage crisis communications.
Measurement & Analysis
- Measure and analyze the effectiveness of PR and social media initiatives.
- Adjust strategies to optimize reach and impact.
- Report on departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage a team of 3–4 PR & social media executives.
- Delegate tasks to ensure alignment of campaigns and initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally across departments and regions.
Budget & Administration
- Establish and manage departmental budgets with Global AVP.
- Oversee expenses and resource allocation.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller, proactive with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
● 8+ years of public relations/media relations experience (agency experience is a plus)
● Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
● Fluent in English and Spanish
● Highly developed communications skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
● Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
● Strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational skills, while also staying on top of tactical execution
● Punctuality and attention-to-detail are a must
● Ability to build relationships and maintain synergy with individuals at all levels, from both a leadership and team player standpoint
● Self-starter with excellent work ethic
● Social media proficiency and creativity across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
● International travel requirement can be up to 30%
