Our organization is on the lookout for a Registered Occupational Therapist to become a vital part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team. This role focuses on delivering compassionate, evidence-based rehabilitation to seniors within a patient-centered and family-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ functional capabilities and create tailored treatment plans.
- Implement skilled occupational therapy interventions aimed at enhancing independence, safety, and overall quality of life.
- Focus therapy on daily living activities, mobility, cognitive and perceptual skills, and the use of adaptive equipment, while considering each resident’s personal goals and preferences.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, physical and speech therapists, physicians, social services, and families to ensure coordinated care and effective discharge planning.
- Maintain timely and precise documentation in the electronic health record system.
- Monitor progress towards measurable goals and modify treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient feedback.
- Educate residents and caregivers on home safety, fall prevention, energy conservation, and strategies to support functional independence beyond the care environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered care.
