Position: Company Driver
Reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, the Company Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of cargo within the assigned region. This role involves working directly with customers, handling and securing loads, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Success in this position requires accountability, professionalism, and a strong focus on customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport cargo regionally based on company and customer requirements
- Secure loads safely, including tarping, chaining, and tying down as required
- Assist with loading and unloading of trucks
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure equipment and loads meet safety standards
- Review and maintain accurate load-related documents (logbooks, bills of lading, PO numbers, etc.)
- Deliver freight and paperwork to customers in a professional and timely manner
- Comply with all safety, hours-of-service, occupational health and safety, and weight/dimension regulations
- Complete occasional overnight trips as required
- Assist in the yard as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations
- Proven reliability, accountability, and strong work ethic
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Capable of lifting/pulling up to 50 kg
