Job Description
The Medical Assistant will support a small outpatient clinic team by managing essential patient and administrative tasks. Reporting to the Office Manager, this role involves maintaining accurate medical records, scheduling patient appointments, facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers, and performing various administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend
Hours: 8 am - 4:30 pm
Charting: Epic - Required - utilizes Epic to address patient concerns and needs from incoming patient phone calls and MyChart messages
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and coworkers.
Processing in basket management/call intake required
Responsibilities
- Manage and update medical records accurately
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care and clinic procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the clinic staff
- Verify patient insurance information before appointments
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MA-R certification required
- Familiarity with patient scheduling and medical terminology
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance regulations
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Administrative and patient message management skills
