Job DescriptionPosition Overview: Registered Respiratory Therapist - PFT (Dayshift)
As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in our Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) lab, you will deliver direct respiratory care to patients, collaborate with physicians regarding the effectiveness of therapies, and act as a knowledgeable resource in the field of respiratory care. This role necessitates graduation from an accredited respiratory program, appropriate licensure, and certification. Experience in critical care and specific respiratory testing credentials is preferred. This position operates during the day shift and focuses on patient care, the use of respiratory equipment, and teamwork within the healthcare environment.

- Provide direct patient care in all areas of respiratory therapy as per physician directives.
- Consult with physicians regarding the effectiveness of respiratory treatments.
- Serve as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care matters.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position DetailsQualifications
- Education: Graduate from a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Licensure: Must meet state licensure standards and possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Certifications: Must hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For those working in the Emergency Room, PALS certification is required.
- Physical Demands: Capable of pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 10 lbs, and performing minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Equipment Used: All relevant respiratory care devices.
- Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and critical care is advantageous.
- Preferred Certification: CPFT or RPFT credentials are preferred.
