As a Community Health Worker you will touch every aspect of our work developing a vast array of skills. You will provide assistance in our school clinics, teach children in their classrooms, and organized your assigned schools for services. Responsibilities
- School-Based Dental Clinics - Assist or lead in setting up and cleaning up after the school-based dental clinics. In the clinic, serve as an unlicensed dental assistant to a dental provider.
- Oral Health Education - Learn and teach RSS oral health curriculum in an engaging way with appropriate information.
- Administration and Billing - Create treatment lists and other reports as requested, complete appropriate documentation.
- Community Outreach & School Liaison - Act as the primary liaison to assigned schools, have a working relationship with the principal, school nurse, social worker, and or community liaison.
- Teamwork - Exhibit excellent working relations with patients, visitors, and staff, effectively communicating RSS’s mission. Be a team player and consider the children we serve first in all your actions.
Qualifications REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to provide high-quality patient care
- Transportation/driver's license required
PREFERRED
- Lived experience and understanding of the community served by RSS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Experience in dental office/clinic
