Summary
Are you passionate about helping young children learn, explore, and grow? We’re looking for a Full-Time Jr. Preschool Teacher to join our amazing team at Crayon College Child Care Center!
This position will open in mid-December (for full transition to be completed by January 1, 2026), we are beginning our search early to find the perfect match. This extra time allows us to select the right teacher, provide training, and ensure a smooth transition into the classroom. Duties
Plan and implement fun, age-appropriate activities that promote growth and development (we use Creative Curriculum).
Create a warm, welcoming classroom where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.
Support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through guided play and hands-on experiences.
Encourage self-help skills, cooperation, and independence as children prepare for the preschool stage.
Communicate regularly with families about daily routines, learning progress, and classroom highlights.
Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to create a consistent, nurturing environment.
Requirements
18 years of age or older
Passion for working with children and helping them reach developmental milestones
Dependable, positive, and team-oriented
Must meet all Washington State DCYF (Department of Children, Youth, and Families) requirements, including but not limited to:
- Completion of a Portable Background Check through the DCYF MERIT system
- Current CPR/First Aid certification and Bloodborne Pathogens training
- Proof of negative TB test or screening
- Up-to-date MMR immunization documentation or exemption
- Completion of required training modules, including 30-hour stars
- Food Handlers Card

Nice To Haves
Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting
Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework or degree
Familiarity with Creative Curriculum or other early learning frameworks
