JOB SUMMARY:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for leading and executing daily kitchen production, preparation, service, safety and sanitation under the direction and guidance of the Executive Chef. Bell & Evans food service programs are a Team Member benefit, and we hold our food quality, ingredients, preparation, and presentation to the highest standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in planning daily / weekly menus.
- Purchase adequate supply of food, beverage and non-foods from approved vendors as needed.
- Use and observe HACCP, as well as PA food code for safe food receiving, preparation, holding, serving, cooling, and storage.
- Supervise kitchen staff, training, and provide feed back / counseling as needed.
- Balance registers and hand in all receipts with cash to accounting daily.
- Assist in taking quarterly inventory of all café food, beverage, and non-food products, update pricing and hand in report to accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- 4+ years of kitchen production experience
- 2+ years of progressive responsibility and leadership
- Excellent knowledge of culinary ingredients and practices
- Bi-lingual is a plus
