The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the key aspects of electrical or technology construction projects, focusing on managing manpower, materials, and finances. You will work under the guidance of the Regional VP of Construction or President to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety and quality control of projects.
- Direct team efforts to establish project budgets or cost estimates.
- Delegate tasks to Project Coordinators.
- Manage labor volume for field resources and determine necessary resources.
- Establish and maintain project documentation, providing clear and timely information to team members and stakeholders.
- Draft and submit contract change proposals, managing contract and sub-contract changes as needed.
- Collaborate with field workers, owners, general contractors, and design professionals to resolve work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Submit product, material, and service data for customer review and approval; coordinate approved items for project installation.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, tracking milestones and deliverables.
- Coordinate material delivery to the construction site.
- Conduct project closeouts and follow-ups to recommend improvements and identify best practices.
- Build and develop business relationships vital to company success.
- Locate, evaluate, and develop leads into project opportunities, securing and managing customer accounts.
- Acquire resources and coordinate team members, third-party vendors, and subcontractors to deliver projects according to plans and specifications.
Essential Skills
- Project management experience in mechanical or electrical construction.
- Strong ability to manage manpower and materials.
- Understanding of accounting and financial management.
- Knowledge of electrical materials and purchase costs.
- Experience with low voltage systems and technology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to foster positive interactions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office, particularly Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) activities.
- Experience with Job Productivity Assurance and Control (JPAC) and Short Interval Scheduling (SIS).
- Ability to manipulate and extract data from project planning and tracking software.
- Understanding or willingness to learn Agile Construction principles.
- Experience in commercial construction and estimation.
Work Environment
This position is located at the Microsoft Data Center in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin. The first month will require working out of the office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Iowa City, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
