Therefore, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) plays a key role in being a real steward of our brand and culture, plus the initial face / impression of the organization in the eyes of active and passive candidates.
In this role, you will be responsible for daily activity toward building trust and establishing relationships with potential candidates. This is a relational approach and not a high-pressure, high-stress transactional effort. Your activity is expected to generate applications, screenings, interviews, and hirings to meet company growth goals and strategy. Candidates of interest are focused in the following professional disciplines: land surveying, civil engineering, sustainable design, landscape architectural, and administrative support. You will work closely with Vice Presidents (hiring managers) and be part of our Human Resources team.

Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-7 years of successful recruiting or business development experience (preferably working internally at a civil engineering company)
- Maintains a consistently high production level while working autonomously
- Willing to focus and execute a single task or two repetitively each workday including:
- Researching candidates
- Crafting and sending 30+ personalized messages via LinkedIn, text, or email
- Corresponding with candidates via phone
- Recording responses in database
- Experience communicating and building relationships with engineering and technical professionals preferred
- Proven organization and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication / conversation skills
- Proven persistence
- Self-motivated
- Motivated by achievement of short-term goals over immediate results
- Handles slow response and / or rejection extremely well
- Personable, casual style or approach
- Experience with civil engineering, landscape architecture and land surveying a plus
- Proven experience and confidence in making first-touch calls or messages
- Team player
- Experience with candidate tracking database or account management systems preferred
- Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- This role is located at our Indianapolis headquarters (not a remote position)
Major Responsibilities
- Contact and correspond with candidates across various platforms
- Represent company at career fairs
- Work closely with Human Resources to evaluate candidates
- Manage candidate tracking database
- Schedule initial interviews
- Participate in early interview process
- Meet with / update hiring managers
- Post online job notices
- Continued learning through TA (Talk Talent) or AEC (ACED) organizations
- Maintains a professional appearance and manner in written, verbal, and live communications / events when interacting with staff, job candidates, and external partners
- Strives to enhance knowledge and skill set leading to improvement and better results
