Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house subacute rehab team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will assist in implementing therapeutic programs designed to improve patients’ independence in daily living activities and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients as outlined in treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist (OT)

Assist in evaluating patient progress and communicate findings to the OT and rehab team

Instruct and supervise patients in therapeutic activities, including ADLs, mobility, and fine motor tasks

Document daily treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions

Maintain equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and supportive therapy environment

Adhere to facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional standards of practice
Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a COTA in the state of Florida

Previous experience in a skilled nursing or subacute rehab setting preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
