Job DescriptionFull-Time Night Registered Nurse - Orthopedic/Spine Care Overview:

This role is designed for a registered nurse focused on the postoperative management of orthopedic and spine patients within a high-acuity inpatient setting. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality, and upholding exceptional care standards in a specialized spine surgery program. Candidates must possess the necessary nursing licensure, certifications such as ACLS and BLS, and the physical capability to perform essential patient care tasks, including lifting and extended periods of standing.

Utilizes the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients. Assesses the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Collaborates with various departments to coordinate patient care. Upholds patient rights and ensures confidentiality of patient information. Executes responsibilities in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.

Unit Overview:

We operate a dynamic 36-bed Orthopedic Unit, specializing in the care of patients recovering from spinal surgeries, alongside medical patients. Our unit is characterized by exceptional teamwork and commitment. We are a developing team striving to achieve recognition as a Center of Excellence and to obtain Joint Commission Certification for our Spine Program.

  • One of two inpatient units dedicated to postoperative spine care
  • Focus on advanced certification and education
  • Specialized Spine Program
  • Personalized orientation process emphasizing competent postoperative spine care

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift, along with the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire
    • Other unit-specific certifications as required, to be obtained within the designated timeframe.
