MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL
These Enhanced Services Facilities (ESF) utilize MHPs to assist residents living independent and healthy lifestyles while thriving in a community setting. The program specializes in providing medical, mental health, and housing support for adults living with behavioral health challenges. An ESF is designed to have a low resident-to-staff ratio and these programs have a mostly younger and independent population. Our staff empower these residents to overcome life-long adversities and make the ESF their home. It is imperative the team honors their choices, goals, and preferences for how they choose to live and interact within their community.
Our work environment includes:
- Low Patient Ratios: Between 6 - 16 patients, with 4 staff at all times

- We do our best to set standard schedules; we do ask MHPs to work at least one of the 2 weekend days a week. Obviously accommodations can be made for special occasions, but as a standard schedule, we try to have consistency.
- Also, to serve or residents best, the standard MHP schedule is from 11am-8pm, with lunch from 2-3pm. Consistency is best for these residents so we do our best to create a stable environment for them.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified Mental Health Professionals (MHP) should demonstrate a Clinical competence in providing assessment, supportive services, education, and therapy to individual residents as well as facilitating various group meetings. Competence in the provision of individual, family, and group treatment is necessary for the resident's stability. MHPs are required to have ONE of the following credentials:
- Licensed mental health counselor
- Licensed mental health counselor associate
- Master's degree in social work
- Psychiatric Nurse with 5 years experience
- Master's degree in Counseling or Social Services from an accredited college and two years of experience in the direct treatment of individuals with mental illness obtained under the supervision of a mental health professional
Acknowledgement: Agency Affiliated Registration in Washington State is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Conduct daily community meetings to check-in with residents and discuss current schedules and activities.
- Assist to coordinate and participate with the person-centered service planning team for each resident. This includes meeting with families, probation officers, providers, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop and update Behavioral Support Plan: assess problems, determine what kind of treatment to offer and make treatment plans with measurable objectives.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, as needed, that meet all resident needs identified in the person-centered service plan, to include mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
- Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in residents' status.
- Communicate effectively and cooperatively with employees, families, and individuals.
- Provide crisis intervention services to residents who are a danger to themselves or others. MHPs monitor the resident's treatment progress and keeps track of his or her mental status.
- Develop appropriate Safety Plan(s) as needed, including instructions for residents and staff to follow ensure safety.
- Document work in accordance with company standards in the areas of diagnostic evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge procedures, and other resident related activities.
- Participate in education and other activities necessary to maintain competency in clinical work.
- Occasionally provide on-call services as coordinated by the Administrator.
- Actively participate in clinical team and staff meetings.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed and/or outlined by the Administrator.
- Responsible for understanding Resident Rights as well as reporting abuse and neglect.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
