Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler, where you will work in either Sub Assembly or general assembly. You will play a crucial role in the assembly process, using hand and power tools to add fasteners, clips, and hardware to window units. Your work will include testing caulking products, painting materials, and working with insulation to ensure high-quality window sealing.
Responsibilities
- Add metal brackets, fasteners, clips, and other hardware onto window units using hand and power tools.
- Perform testing on caulking products to ensure quality sealing of windows.
- Paint the ends of materials and work with insulation.
- Wrap and inspect units throughout the assembly process to identify and rectify flaws.
- Handle large pieces of glass/sheet metal, standing and walking for 8-hour shifts.
- Assist in Sub Assembly during wait times due to workflow variations.
- Retrieve materials and conduct unit testing in the yard as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in power tools, assembly, and fitting.
- Experience with drills, hand tools, and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mechanical role.
- Strong background in fabrication, fitting, construction, and installation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.
- Manufacturing background or experience in construction, such as deck building or contracting.
- Flexibility to perform various tasks and a positive approach to work.
- Computer skills are a plus, with a minimum of 6 months in an assembly role.
- Ability to take feedback well and adapt to different areas of the assembly process.

Work Environment
Work in a non-climate controlled facility, bustling with activity and machinery. The environment involves handling large pieces of glass, sheet metal, and steel frames. The shift is from 7am to 3:30pm, with occasional overtime on weekdays and Saturdays. Embrace a dynamic and collaborative team environment where flexibility and adaptability are key.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chester, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
