We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Epileptologist to join our team at a prestigious academic institution, focusing on clinical practice, research, and education in the field of pediatric epilepsy. This role involves providing both outpatient and inpatient care, interpreting EEGs, and engaging in epilepsy surgery discussions. Candidates should possess specialized training in child neurology and epilepsy, along with eligibility for medical licensure in Maryland.
Pediatric Epileptologist Role
Our organization, in collaboration with a leading Department of Neurology, invites applications for a full-time Pediatric Epileptologist position. The academic rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) will be determined based on the applicant's experience, training, and scholarly achievements.
The selected candidate will become part of a multidisciplinary pediatric epilepsy program, recognized for its expertise in ketogenic diets, clinical trials, translational research, epilepsy surgery, continuous EEG monitoring, neurocritical care, and neurodevelopmental outcomes. Key Responsibilities

Deliver outpatient care to children experiencing epilepsy and related conditions.

Interpret routine, ambulatory, and continuous video-EEG studies, including NICU and PICU EEGs.

Provide inpatient care within a specialized 6-bed pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU).

Manage inpatient care for the child neurology consult service.

Engage in multidisciplinary epilepsy surgery conferences, including pre-surgical assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Board certified or board eligible in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology (or equivalent training).

Completion of a 2-year fellowship in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology with significant pediatric experience.

Eligibility for medical licensure in Maryland.

Proven excellence in clinical care and a strong dedication to academic medicine.
Compensation and Benefits
In accordance with the Maryland Pay Transparency Act, we provide a salary range for all job postings. This range is based on the American Academy of Medical Colleges (AAMC) scales and reflects a good faith estimate of the base salary at the time of posting. For this role, the annual salary range is between $173,540 and $307,948. The actual salary will be influenced by factors such as faculty appointments, credentials, research experience, and specific expertise. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation that may apply to this position.
