Job DescriptionDirect Counsel is seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Associate with 3–6 years of healthcare transactional and regulatory experience to join a leading healthcare practice advising healthcare providers, life sciences companies, private equity sponsors, investors, and healthcare-focused businesses on complex regulatory and transactional matters.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney interested in working at the intersection of healthcare regulation, corporate transactions, and strategic business counseling. The ideal candidate will have experience navigating the evolving healthcare regulatory landscape while supporting sophisticated transactions and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Advise healthcare providers, healthcare companies, investors, and sponsors on regulatory compliance matters
  • Support healthcare mergers, acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions
  • Analyze federal and multi-state healthcare regulatory requirements affecting healthcare and life sciences organizations
  • Counsel clients regarding the Stark Law, Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, and related healthcare regulations
  • Conduct healthcare regulatory due diligence in connection with transactions and investments
  • Prepare and review regulatory filings, agreements, and compliance-related documentation
  • Provide ongoing guidance regarding operational, privacy, reimbursement, and compliance issues affecting healthcare and life sciences businesses

Qualifications

  • 3–6 years of healthcare regulatory and/or healthcare transactional experience
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations, including Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, HIPAA, and related regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting healthcare transactions, regulatory due diligence, and compliance initiatives
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, research, and communication skills
  • Outstanding academic credentials and attention to detail
  • Admission to practice in Washington, D.C. or eligibility to obtain admission preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $260,000 – $390,000
