Independence Plus is expanding in all our service areas and has an immediate opening for an experienced Healthcare Intake Coordinator to work out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for enterprise level intake process for all divisions: Home Nursing, Home Health, and Home Medical Equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtaining and entering complete and accurate patient demographics, physician information, patient diagnoses, patient equipment and supplies, therapy progress notes
- Obtains all initial prior authorizations for HME and HH
- Provides detailed insurance verification for primary, secondary and tertiary payers
- Reviews all information to determine appropriateness for requested services and then distributes the referral information to appropriate team members
- Maintains system for tracking referrals for pending discharges. Maintains and updates referral census
- Provides excellent customer service to our external and internal customers in a fast-paced, high volume environment
Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient knowledge of information systems required
- Excellent communication skills to interact with referral sources and all IPI divisions and to provide appropriate feedback and questions to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and protocols
- Strong organizational skills
- Minimum of two years relevant experience
