Job DescriptionDescription:
To provide nursing care to the residents as prescribed by the physician, and in accordance with established facility protocol, local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Follow established standards of nursing practice to implement facility policies and procedures related to treatment and medication administration
- Interpret existing policies and procedures to nursing assistants, residents, families, and physicians
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care provided and initiate appropriate action as necessary. Provide clinical supervision to CNAs
- Conduct resident rounds as assigned to access the skin conditions of each resident and report problems to charge nurse and take necessary follow-up
- Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action
- Compile information for facility committees as instructed
- Administer treatments and medications according to the physician's order and accurately record treatment and medications administered
- Document resident care provided and resident's response or lack of response to treatment or medication provided
- Assess each resident's skin condition weekly, and as necessary, including stage, size, sites, depth, color, drainage and odor of each condition
- Obtain physicians' orders and any revisions for treatment or medications as necessary
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor
