Job Description

Job Description

Location: Jenkinsville, SC (V.C. Summer Site)
Pay: $50 - $65 / hour + Per Diem + Significant Overtime (70+ hours/week)
Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Immediate Need: Field Construction Coordinator – Power Generation Outage

Are you a hands-on construction professional with a background in power generation? Do you thrive in high-intensity environments where every hour counts?

We are currently seeking an experienced Utility Construction Lead/Coordinator to provide on-site coordination and oversight during a critical high-workload outage period at the V.C. Summer facility in Jenkinsville, SC.

This is not a project management or director-level role. This is a boots-on-the-ground, field-facing position requiring someone who can walk the job site, coordinate between craft groups, and remove barriers in real-time to keep the outage schedule on track.

The Incentive:
This role offers significant financial upside. With a competitive hourly rate, GSA per diem, and the opportunity to work around 70 hours per week, this is ideal for a candidate looking to maximize earnings while applying their specialized skill set.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the primary on-site coordinator for construction activities during the outage, ensuring alignment with strict schedule milestones.
  • Coordinate daily work sequences across multiple foremen and craft groups (mechanical, electrical, labor).
  • Work side-by-side with Construction, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field barriers, material shortages, or logistical issues that could delay progress.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and industrial/power generation work practices.
  • Attend daily planning and progress meetings to communicate field conditions and schedule risks.

Who You Are:

  • You come from the power or electric utility industry. Experience in fossil, hydro, or nuclear environments is highly relevant.
  • You have experience in a coordinator, lead, foreman, or superintendent capacity—specifically working directly with craft labor in the field.
  • You understand the high-stakes nature of outage work and are comfortable with a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • You have a track record of solving problems on the fly without needing to escalate every issue to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Industry Background: MUST have experience in the Power / Electric Utility sector. Candidates from commercial construction will not be considered for this specific need.
  • Location: Can be based anywhere on the East Coast; relocation/travel to site is required for the duration of the contract.
  • Work Style: Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working long hours (nights/weekends as required by outage schedule).
  • Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of safety requirements in an industrial environment.
