Responsible for managing and administering the benefits programs and coordinates the administrative duties in support of organization-wide operations ensuring compliance with regulations and providing support to employees and managers. They also play a role in HR operations by supporting various HR functions like employee data management and onboarding.
The Benefits & Human Resources Operations Specialist will assist the human resources team with complex and specialized high-level operations tasks to support the benefits and HR operations functions. The incumbent will also provide administrative assistance and day-to-day coordination of HR functions that include but are not limited to benefits administration, HRIS support, some HR Payroll administration, vendor relationship and management, procurement, invoice processing and reconciliation, etc.

Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to manage and administer various employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, and disability insurance.
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete benefits information in the HRIS (UKG), including new hire enrollment, life events, and electronic data feeds between the HRIS and benefits carriers.
- Successfully partner with Sr. HR Specialist in support of annual/open enrollment activities at the end of the calendar year.
- Ensures that all benefits programs comply with relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
- Conducts or assists with regulatory and compliance reporting, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, VETS 4212, ACA (1094/1095C), 5500 reporting.
- Partners with Accounts Payable team to process all HR vendor procurement activities include creating purchase orders, processing invoices, and tracking payments through accounting systems.
- Ability to maintain employee electronic records in HRIS (UKG) system ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, location, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
- Ability to support company-wide informational meetings and training, such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss HR changes that will impact the organization.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and IREX policies and practices.
- Ensure that employees receive prompt and accurate responses to their inquiries.
- Ability to multi-task and manage other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a human resources role, benefits administration, HR operations,
- Experience effectively working with a large group of individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds is required.
- Experience required using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro.
- Experience in UKG (UltiPro) is highly preferred.
- Strong HR-related technology proficiency and understanding.
Your Daily Tasks
- Point of contact for HR service ticket inquiries, assignments, and resolutions.
- Research and resolves HRIS problems and unexpected query results. Proactively recommends solutions in all areas of work.
- Carries out data entry and develops processes to ensure data integrity, including evaluation and data audit. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring supervisor is apprised.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all IREX vendors to promote smooth service delivery.
- Maintains professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with IREX staff at all times.
- Assists with new employee orientation as assigned.
- Maintains all platforms for communicating with employees, including the HRIS home page, SharePoint page, etc.
- Maintains the internal HR Calendar and alerts the unit of key deadlines.
- Respond to employment verification requests accurately and appropriately.
- Conduct an audit of HR personnel files as needed.
- Other support duties as needed.

The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $77,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
Please note: While we aim to offer competitive compensation, not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
