A full-time Pharmacist role is available on a contract-to-hire basis in the Long Beach, CA area, with a focus on clinical expertise and long-term career growth. Job Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am 6:00 pm; rotating every third Saturday, 9:00 am 1:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense approximately 250 prescriptions daily with accuracy, safety, and compliance
- Perform comprehensive clinical medication reviews to assess appropriateness, interactions, dosing, and therapeutic outcomes
- Provide extensive patient counseling, with an emphasis on diabetes management including insulin use, injectables, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), oral agents, and lifestyle guidance
- Conduct clinical assessments and monitor chronic disease states, especially among diabetic patients
- Collaborate with prescribers to clarify orders and recommend therapy adjustments that optimize patient outcomes
- Identify and resolve medication-related problems and barriers to adherence
- Oversee pharmacy workflow ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient operations
- Foster a patient-centered environment focused on long-term health outcomes and quality care
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- B.S. or PharmD from an accredited Pharmacy School
- Active and clear California Pharmacist License
- Minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience in diabetic clinical assessment highly desirable
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English strongly preferred
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, clinical knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills
