The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of Fibox products. This role oversees production teams, drives operational excellence, and partners cross-functionally to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The Manufacturing Manager plays a key role in developing people, improving processes, and supporting Fibox’s commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Leadership
- Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments
- Translate production plans into daily execution, ensuring optimal labor, materials, and equipment utilization
- Monitor and manage key manufacturing KPIs (safety, quality, productivity, scrap, on-time delivery) and take corrective action as needed
People Leadership & Development
- Directly manage and develop supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork
- Coach leaders on performance management, employee development, and effective communication
- Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, training, and employee relations matters
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Ensure manufacturing processes align with quality requirements, work instructions, and ISO-related standards (where applicable)
- Address quality issues proactively, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
Continuous Improvement & Process Excellence
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, standard work, and process consistency
- Utilize Lean manufacturing tools and problem-solving methodologies to improve throughput and reduce cost
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to support process improvements and new product introductions
Planning, Reporting & Communication
- Communicate production performance, challenges, and improvement plans to leadership
- Support budgeting, labor planning, and capital equipment justification as needed
- Ensure clear communication flows between shifts, departments, and leadership
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading teams in a production setting with measurable performance outcomes
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, and labor management
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and KPI-driven performance management
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and quality systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
