Commercial Avian Deterrent Installer
Job Description
Job Description
This role requires travel across all five NYC boroughs.
About Bye Bye Birdie
Bye Bye Birdie, a Division of Select Exterminating, has delivered bird control solutions to commercial clients throughout the Tri-State area for more than 30 years. Our projects span iconic buildings, major transportation hubs, and renowned institutions across New York City.
A Day in the Field
You’ll start your day coordinating with your crew, reviewing site plans, and loading materials. From there, you’ll head to commercial job sites across the city to install and service professional-grade bird control systems—think netting, spikes, wire systems, and other deterrents. Much of your work takes place on rooftops and elevated surfaces, so comfort with heights is essential.
On site, you’ll measure, cut, fasten, and secure components; operate hand and power tools; follow detailed instructions; and verify that every installation meets our standards for safety, quality, and appearance. You’ll keep the work area organized and clean, communicate clearly with teammates, and deliver top-tier service to our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Install and maintain commercial bird control solutions on a variety of structures
- Perform hands-on construction and installation tasks using a range of tools and materials
- Follow company safety protocols and quality benchmarks on every job
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional job site
- Work outdoors year-round, frequently on rooftops and elevated surfaces
- Be able to commute to job sites in any of the five boroughs; company vehicles are provided based on availability
What You Bring
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with your hands (construction experience is a plus)
- Comfort working at heights, including climbing ladders and working on rooftops
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb a 40-foot ladder
- Clear communication, strong organization, and solid time management
- Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and ability to follow instructions
Credentials
- Valid NYS Driver’s License (Required)
- OSHA 30-hour Certification (REQUIRED)
- Aerial Boom Certification (Training provided)
