Job Description:
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Billing Specialist to support telecom billing reconciliation and software license usage reporting within a secure federal environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing vendor billing workflows, leading data reconciliation efforts, and supporting detailed financial and usage reporting across telecom and IT software assets. This role requires a high level of accuracy, organization, and discretion.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must possess an active TS clearance at the time of application, be willing and able to obtain SCI access, and pass a CI polygraph.
- This position is onsite 5/days a week in Washington D.C.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, finance, telecom billing management, or related roles
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and reconcile discrepancies.
- Proven experience in managing billing workflows and reconciling vendor invoices.
- Proficient in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently in a high-stakes environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Telecom Billing Management or IT Software License Tracking.
- Familiarity with telecom service billing structures (e.g., VoIP, mobile, data circuits).
- Knowledge of software licensing models (per user, per device, subscription-based, etc.).
- Experience working in secure federal or classified environments.
- Understanding of federal financial regulations and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the reconciliation of vendor telecom billing, ensuring charges align with services rendered and contract terms.
- Oversee billing workflow processes, including invoice review, approvals, issue resolution, and audit tracking.
- Respond to and manage data calls related to telecom billing, software licensing, and usage metrics.
- Track and report on software license usage and attrition, identifying trends and supporting optimization efforts.
- Collaborate with procurement, IT, finance, and operations teams to ensure accuracy in billing data and reporting.
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation of all billing activity and license management processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, federal financial regulations, and agency policies.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate billing status, discrepancies, and financial impact to leadership.
- Participate in audits, internal reviews, and financial reconciliation projects.
- Support contract and vendor management functions related to telecom and software licensing.
