Title: Industrial Machinery Builder

Shift: Day Shift

Salary: $28-30/hr

Who we are:

We are a small manufacturing shop located in the Cleveland area that specializes in designing and building industrial machinery for the steel and tube industries. We operate a close-knit, collaborative environment where every team member contributes to the successful assembly and shipment of specialized equipment.

Industrial Machinery Technician Role:

This role exists to perform the complete A to Z assembly of specialized industrial machinery, taking projects from individual components to the final working product. You will work both independently and with a small team to build, troubleshoot, and finalize machinery for shipment.

Industrial Machinery Technician Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components into industrial machinery based on BOMs and CAD drawings
  • Perform A to Z assembly of machines from individual components to the final working product
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to wire and configure industrial controls
  • Execute basic machining processes including drilling, tapping, grinding, and welding
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to assure proper system function
  • Collaborate with the team to prep, dial in, and document machinery before shipment
  • Maintain accurate records of machinery builds and parts used
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment

Industrial Machinery Technician Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to the Shop Manager and has no direct reports.

About You:

  • Possess at least 3 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance or machinery building
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting CAD drawings and matching parts to print
  • Hold a background in tool and die or capital machinery maintenance
  • Experience wiring industrial electrical controls and reading schematics
  • Ability to distinguish mechanical nuances such as thread direction or part orientation visually
  • Thrive in a collaborative, small shop environment where team reliance is essential
  • Currently employed or able to clearly articulate reasons for seeking new employment
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working with heavy machinery
