Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Wood Assembler to join our production team. The Wood Assembler is responsible for assembling wooden components and products using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery, while ensuring high quality and accuracy.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders to understand assembly requirements
- Assemble wooden parts to build furniture, cabinetry, frames, pallets, or other wood products
- Measure, cut, drill, or sand components to required dimensions using hand and power tools
- Inspect parts for defects and ensure proper fit and finish
- Use clamps, nails, screws, glues, and fasteners to join wood pieces
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with packing, labeling, or moving finished products as needed
- Report any defects, damaged materials, or safety concerns to the supervisor
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous woodworking or assembly experience is an asset
- Ability to read measuring tapes, blueprints, or work instructions
- Proficient in using basic hand tools and power tools (drills, saws, nail guns, etc.)
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Able to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing or workshop environment with exposure to noise, wood dust, and machinery
- May require lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs
- Standing, bending, and manual dexterity required throughout the shift
- Occasional overtime or weekend work based on production needs
- Fast-paced environment
