Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OBGYN physician to become a part of our OB Hospitalist Program at Eden Medical Center, located in Castro Valley, California.
We operate a collaborative, team-oriented program that provides continuous in-house obstetric and gynecologic care, with one physician on duty at any given time. This position allows for the practice of hospital-based obstetrics in a nurturing environment, supported by strong specialty resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting OB triage, patient assessments, and management
- Attending deliveries and providing surgical assistance
- Managing emergency Cesarean sections (with trauma surgery support available if necessary)
- Performing gynecologic consultations and urgent/emergent surgeries
- Monitoring fetal health and providing emergency department coverage for OB/GYN patients
You will collaborate closely with local OBGYNs, maternal-fetal medicine specialists from a nearby sister facility, and an in-house team that includes pediatric hospitalists, trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, adult hospitalists, intensivists, and emergency medicine professionals.
Qualifications:
- Possession of an active and unrestricted medical license in California
- Current DEA registration

About Eden Medical Center:
Eden Medical Center, a part of the Sutter Health Network, serves as the regional trauma center for Southern Alameda County and facilitates the delivery of approximately 1,200 babies each year. Established in 2012, Eden provides:
- 5 labor and delivery rooms, 2 triage beds, 1 L&D operating room, and 12 postpartum beds
- A 6-bed Level I-II NICU (for infants 34+ weeks gestation), with pediatric hospitalists present at every delivery
- 24/7 in-house anesthesiology coverage
- Comprehensive electronic medical records (Epic) with remote fetal heart rate monitoring capabilities
