Bookkeeper
Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full-Time Bookkeeper with experience using Deltek Vantagepoint to manage the day-to-day financial transactions for our small-sized company. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining internal controls, and helping manage the company's finances efficiently on a flexible schedule. You will work closely with company leadership to provide timely and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Manage and process invoices, payments, and collections. Ensure timely payment of bills and accurate invoicing through Deltek.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded and accounts are balanced.
- Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, using Deltek Vantagepoint and provide summaries to management.
- Monitor and record all business expenses, ensuring they are categorized properly for tax purposes within Deltek.
- Assist in the processing of payroll, including tracking employee hours, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain records for tax purposes and work with external accountants to prepare and file tax returns.
- Help in preparing budgets and financial forecasts using Deltek Vantagepoint to provide financial insights to management.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial records and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulations.
- Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing, payments, and collections through the Deltek system.
Essential Skills
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is highly encouraged.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Ability to reconcile accounts, manage financial statements, and perform payroll-related functions.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience).
- 1-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a small business setting.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platform is a must.
Work Environment
The work environment is hybrid, with a team of 7 professionals.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
