We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) /Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) with Medi-Cal experience.

We are seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) /Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) with Medi-Cal experience of six months and above and two years experience with a strong commitment to the field of alcohol and substance use disorders with above-average proficiency in Motivational Interviewing..

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, welcoming, and instill hope in individuals facing addiction and co-occurring conditions, supporting a dual recovery philosophy. A positive and proactive attitude is essential in our start-up environment. This individual will naturally connect with and respect diverse individuals in a culturally sensitive manner, demonstrating mindfulness, high ethical standards, and strong teamwork skills. They will utilize a therapeutic, recovery-oriented approach that is empathetic, respectful, and motivational, while encouraging client accountability. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Medi-Cal experience. (6 months and above)
  • Telehealth experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrates reliability and punctuality.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and well-maintained appearance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum CADC I /SUDCC credential with at least two years of clinical experience in the field.
  • Proven experience facilitating education and process groups, as well as working with individual clients.
  • Mature and professional demeanor with a genuine desire to work with individuals in recovery.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences, including LGBTQIA+, racial, ethnic, socio-economic backgrounds, and disabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of substance abuse, alcoholism, and co-occurring disorders.

Experience in:

  • Assessment: Gathering and interpreting client data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
  • Screening: Conducting interviews and assessments for program applicants.
  • Intake: Completing initial assessments and admission documentation.
  • Orientation: Explaining the program and treatment to new clients.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaboratively developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Case Management: Coordinating with clients and resources to address identified needs and goals.
  • Referral: Identifying and connecting clients with necessary community resources.
  • Consultation: Collaborating with other professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Counseling: Providing individual, family, and group counseling services.
  • Education: Providing information on substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, treatment, recovery, and available resources.
  • Ability to maintain thorough and accurate client records that meet all facility and licensing standards.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Clinical Program Director on aftercare and discharge planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and participate in scheduled staff meetings.
  • Theoretical understanding of and experience with 12-step recovery/sponsorship, Sacramento community support groups, LGBTQIA-Affirmative approaches, Mindfulness, CBT, ACT, and other treatment modalities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be available to work evenings and be a self-directed individual capable of seeking assistance when needed.
  • Position starts full-time.
  • Compensation: CADC I and above: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience), includes health insurance benefits.
