The Opportunity
We are looking for a versatile Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of design projects from initial concept through final installation. This is a hands-on role where you will utilize your 3D CAD expertise and deep knowledge of structural steels and manufacturing procedures to design, document, and deploy industrial mechanical systems that directly impact our clients' operations. What You'll Do
- Engineering Design: Lead the design of mechanical systems, assemblies, and components, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability using 2D and 3D CAD software
- Technical Documentation: Review engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), material lists, and production shop orders. Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and product improvement reports
- Analysis & Evaluation: Perform detailed calculations to evaluate and recommend mechanical systems, proving the capabilities, capacities, and strengths of new and existing designs
- Project & Customer Support: Create site layouts, site modifications, and technical content for customer proposals and quotations. Investigate field issues and recommend design improvements
- Production Oversight: Support activities involved in the fabrication, installation, and repair of custom equipment, working closely with production and customers representatives
What You'll Need
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional engineering experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong, applied understanding of mechanical components, structural steels, manufacturing procedures, and industrial construction methods.
- CAD Proficiency: Must be highly proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Blueprint Ready: Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and work from complex schematics, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with industrial construction, project management, or millwright services.
- Familiarity with mechanical conveying and material handling equipment.
- Basic understanding of low-to-medium voltage electric control systems and electric motors.
- Proven ability in technical writing for reports, manuals, and proposals.
