Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity invites a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to contribute expertise in airway and ventilator management at a reputable medical center located in Keaau, HI. The position is a 15-week contract, primarily covering the night shift, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment to practice advanced respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver continuous airway management and ventilator support, including non-invasive ventilation.
- Collaborate with physicians to provide consultative respiratory care services.
- Perform CPR and other critical respiratory procedures.
- Utilize advanced respiratory equipment including PB 980, PB 840 ventilators, V60, Para Pac Transport Vent, and computerized charting systems.
- Manage medication through Pyxis medication system.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must possess a current State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License before assignment start.
- At least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience across multiple patient populations.
- Current certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS are required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
- Candidates must have completed previous assignments; no first-time assignments allowed.
- Proof of flu vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
- Compliance with employee health clearance including arrival for appointment on the Thursday before contract start is mandatory.
Schedule:
- Night Shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts weekly (36 hours total)
- Shift hours may vary; no guarantee of hours.
