About the Role: In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced technicians to learn the skills required to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial sewer and drain systems. Sewer & Drain Apprentice Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians with installation of sewer and drain repairs.
- Excavate indoor and outdoor underground drain systems to prepare them for repair or renovation.
- Perform restoration of excavated areas using stone, soil, concrete, and asphalt where necessary.
- Operate a light dump truck to haul materials to and from jobsites.
- Learn to operate drain cleaning machines, jetters, augers, and camera inspection equipment. As you mature, you may be given the opportunity to learn how to tow heavy equipment, operate mini-excavators and other larger tools.
- Prepare job sites by gathering tools, materials, and safety equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, vehicles, and work areas.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service while on job sites.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to build technical skills and industry knowledge.
Sewer & Drain Apprentice Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments (crawl spaces, basements, outdoors, etc.).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Positive attitude, contributing to a winning team.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior plumbing or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
