Job DescriptionRegistered Nurse - Med/Surg, Night Shift Overview:
The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg department at our organization delivers patient care during nighttime hours in a 25-bed critical access facility. Key responsibilities involve working alongside therapy teams to enhance patient recovery and ensuring the maintenance of necessary licenses and certifications, including ACLS and BLS. Status: Full-Time, 36 hours weekly
Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
Includes rotating weekends and holidays
Our facility is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital situated in Guthrie, Oklahoma, providing care for Observation, Inpatient, and Swing patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio in our unit is 5:1. Nursing staff collaborate closely with the Therapy department to deliver coordinated and exceptional care, aiming to help patients return to their pre-hospitalization lifestyles.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
- Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a valid RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, adhering to all state nursing board regulations.
- Physical Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are required during each shift, along with the capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or successful completion of the course within 30 days of employment
- Additional unit-specific certifications as required, to be obtained within the designated timeframe.
