Job DescriptionLexington Christian Academy, Lexington MA seeks a School Counselor for the 2025-26 academic year. The School Counselor oversees and plans for the mental health needs and general well being of the LCA community in collaboration with the administrative team. The School Counselor provides essential assessment and support services for LCA students and provides referrals to outside counseling or therapy services as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Triage Counseling:

Provide short and medium term, 1:1 student support to students who require frequent check-ins or acute support to manage mental health concerns

Partner with families of students who receive regular counseling or therapy outside of school. Act as liaison with outside therapists and coordinate effective care of students while on campus

Triage acute mental health concerns onsite when a student presents a serious issue or concern. Utilize Advocates and emergency services as necessary

Coordinate re-entry plans for students who miss school for an extended period of time following a mental health event or treatment
Group Counseling & Macro Initiatives

Maintain a close eye on mental health and social trends across the student body and strategically develop all-school or small group opportunities for proactive address

Create and facilitate workshops, seminars, and educational sessions for students, parents, and staff on various topics related to mental health and emotional well-being

Fluently integrate faith-based approaches into counseling practices and programs.
Administrative Duties

Document support meetings with students in SNAP Health

Maintain confidential records on all students per laws and regulations of the State of Massachusetts

Maintain a calendar and planning for student meetings

Data collection through surveys or individual contact on school wide mental health

This is a full-time position on the 10-month, academic work cycle.
