Overview:
Greater Wausau Christian Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead and oversee the organization’s strategic initiatives, operations, and community engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Christian ministry and possess strong leadership skills, a passion for service, and a proven track record in management and business development. This role offers an opportunity to do Kingdom Work and make a meaningful impact within the community by guiding the organization toward sustainable growth and mission fulfillment.
Duties
- Become known to area congregations and encourage participation in GWCS both financially and as clergy or volunteers.
- Enlist area pastors to lead services or Bible studies, and volunteers to help them.
- Help our administrative assistance in coordinating schedules for clergy and volunteers.
- Develop a relationship with eldercare and jail personnel and supervise GWCS work in their facilities.
- Work with Board to develop policies and mission outreach in the community and provide a report at our monthly meeting.
- Conduct eldercare services and/or jail Bible study when there are not enough volunteers.
- Oversee the volunteer workers doing KIDS Count at Christmas for inmate’s children.
Requirements
- Experience and heart for eldercare facility and jail ministries
- Ability to work with other clergy, volunteers, care workers, and board of directors
- Experience with budgeting, fundraising, and recruiting volunteers for a non-profit organization
- Ability to share music with residents (could be singing, playing an instrument, or use of technology)
