The Role

This is not a behind-the-desk Project Manager position.

This role is primarily field-based and is responsible for driving production on active jobsites. You will lead daily site operations, coordinate trade partners, protect project schedules, and ensure quality execution.

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of residential remodeling projects from mobilization through final completion.

You will work closely with ownership while leading job-site execution and trade coordination.

Over time, you will be expected to manage multiple active six-figure remodeling projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule discipline, quality standards, and financial control.

If you prefer managing projects from an office, this role is not the right fit.

Core Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Production Execution

  • Lead daily on-site operations
  • Lead residential remodeling projects from mobilization through completion
  • Maintain and drive project schedules, sequencing trades proactively
  • Identify and resolve issues before they impact schedule, cost, or quality
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with scope
  • Inspect work regularly to ensure it meets company and design standards
  • Catch and correct issues early to prevent rework
  • Maintain professional, organized, and safe jobsites

Financial Awareness & Margin Protection

  • Monitor job progress against budget expectations
  • Identify potential labor creep or scope drift early
  • Support ownership with change order documentation and execution
  • Help protect gross margin through disciplined field management

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee subcontractors and suppliers
  • Verify scopes, sequencing, and readiness prior to work beginning
  • Hold trade partners accountable to quality and timeline standards

Client Communication

  • Serve as the day-to-day field contact during construction
  • Provide clear updates on progress and next steps
  • Maintain a professional, confidence-building client experience

Operational Coordination

  • Work with ownership on scheduling, budgeting, and project planning
  • Maintain job documentation, daily logs, and project status updates
  • Support continuous improvement of company processes

Within your first 6-9 months:

  • Projects run on schedule with minimal oversight
  • Subcontractors respect your leadership and coordination
  • Clients feel informed, confident, and well cared for
  • Jobsites are clean, organized, and professional
  • Ownership can rely on you to independently manage projects

Required Experience

  • 2+ years of residential construction experience
  • Experience managing remodeling or custom residential projects
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors in the field
  • Ability to read plans, scopes, and specifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license

Strongly Preferred

  • Superintendent or field leadership experience
  • Design-build or remodeling firm background
  • Experience working directly with homeowners
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and job cost control

Compensation

$65,000 - $85,000 annual salary, depending on experience
