This position, located near Sunnyvale, CA, offers a chance to make a significant impact on a diverse student population. The role runs from August through June, providing consistency and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships throughout the year.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with students who present moderate-to-severe communication needs, including those using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, and students who are multilingual. Your expertise will be vital in supporting students’ growth and helping them reach their communication goals.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Current California licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Experience in school settings, particularly with elementary-aged children
- Proven ability to serve students with moderate-to-severe needs and those utilizing AAC devices
- Familiarity with culturally and linguistically diverse populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services for a caseload of elementary students (exact number to be determined)
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress
- Document student growth and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and procedures
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
