Job Title: HCC Coding Specialist
Location: Remote (U.S. Based)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (CT)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled HCC Coding Specialist for a contract-to-hire role. The ideal candidate has experience in neurology, behavioral health, and psychiatry coding, with in-depth knowledge of CMS risk adjustment and HCC guidelines. This position supports accurate documentation and risk-adjusted coding to enable value-based care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assign accurate ICD-10-CM codes for HCC and risk adjustment

  • Analyze provider documentation and ensure coding compliance

  • Query providers for clarification on incomplete or ambiguous records

  • Collaborate with clinical and CDI teams to improve documentation quality

  • Stay current with coding regulations and participate in audits and reviews

Qualifications:

  • CPC or CCS certification required; CRC or CDIP preferred

  • 2+ years of coding experience, including 1+ year in HCC/risk adjustment

  • Proficient in EHR systems, coding tools, and medical terminology

Preferred:

  • CPT/HCPCS coding experience

  • Familiarity with multiple payer risk adjustment models

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
