Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and document laser welding processes and parameters for various materials and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex laser welding equipment and process issues on the production floor.
- Design, implement, and maintain tooling and fixtures for laser welding operations.
- Conduct metrology and quality control inspections of laser welded components, analyzing defects and root causes.
- Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability and optimize product designs for laser welding.
- Manage and perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of laser welding systems.
- Establish and enforce laser safety protocols and procedures in the manufacturing environment.
Recommended Qualifications
- In-depth expertise in laser welding principles, metallurgy, and various laser technologies (e.g., fiber, Nd:YAG).
- Hands-on experience with industrial laser welding equipment, including programming, operation, and integration with automation/robotics.
- Proven ability to develop, optimize, and validate laser welding parameters for different materials and applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting weld defects and process issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka) or PLC integration.
- Proficiency in advanced metallurgical characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, EDS).
- Familiarity with CAD software for fixture design or laser process simulation.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Python).
